The day started with rain, then some freak hail. Finally got a chance to try my rain gear: worked pretty well.
Based on past experience, I didn't think there was much chance a drop from 4800 to 2200 feet wouldn't involve a few intermediate up hills.
But wow, what steep hills!
I had hoped to reach a new couchsurf host in the western part of the Phoenix megalopolis, but it just didn't work out.
I ended my day in the eastern part. I got lucky and found a fantastic gyro place for dinner, then another motel...
